The Chili Extraordinaire

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “(Extra)ordinary.”

The average Indian household most certainly uses chilis in their daily cooking, not to make it spicy, but to add flavor to it. Oh, and yes, to make the dish look good before it’s placed on the table. Red chilies aren’t all that spicy, it’s the green ones which are infamous. Most Indians, like all other normal people on this planet, will most probably die with steam coming out of their ears on the ingestion of this tropical condiment. Then again, you have people like my mother, who will happily snack on the greenest of chilies, complaining that they’re not spicy enough while the rest of the family have sweat pouring down their foreheads while panting and sloshing water down their throats.
